The ‘Golden Bachelor’ couple shared a major announcement just three months after their wedding.

Gerry Turner, aged 74, and Theresa Nist, aged 70, have decided to part ways amicably. The couple, who found love on the first season of The Golden Bachelor, announced this decision on Good Morning America with Juju Chang.

“Theresa and I have had many heartfelt discussions, carefully considering our circumstances, including where we live, and we have both agreed that it’s time for us to end our marriage,” Turner shared with Chang.

“We have been overwhelmed by the love and support from viewers of ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ and we are grateful that our story has given hope to so many people,” Nist added. “We hope that sentiment continues for everyone.”

Turner proposed to Nist during the season finale of The Golden Bachelor and they got married earlier this year in a grand ceremony. Despite living in different states, with Turner in Indiana and Nist in New Jersey, they initially expressed strong commitment to each other. However, they later realized the importance of their respective families.

“We looked at homes in South Carolina, considered New Jersey, and explored various options, but we never came to a definite decision,” Nist explained.

“Our unwavering commitment to our families stands out the most in our conversations,” Turner said. “After careful thought, we both believe that living apart is the best way for each of us to find happiness.”

While Turner and Nist will be living separate lives, they plan to cherish the happy memories they shared.

“I still have a deep affection for Theresa. I love her every single day,” Turner shared.

“I still have love for him,” Nist echoed.
